I visited the Craven Arms after hearing about it through both TripAdvisor and CAMRA Birmingham's Pub of the Year nominations. It has been quite highly ranked by both so it was with quite high expectations that I made the effort to give it a try, despite it being quite out of the way compared to anywhere else nearby.

It is a hard walk up the hill to The Craven, but well worth the effort. It has a beautiful exterior, retaining the tiling from when it was a Holden's pub; although the inside has changed and it no longer has the buzzer informing the postmen when their break was over. O.K. the changes have being even greater at the sorting office, not a postie to be seen at the Mailbox.
